The Rum Diary finally has a trailer! And it looks much, much funnier than I’d expected. Also, they seem to have changed the overall plot - but I guess giving Kemp something to fight for, rather than just wandering around aimlessly getting drunk as he does in the novel, is a smart change when you’re going from book to film.
The Rum Diary is one of the very few things from Hunter S. Thompson that I have read (gasp! I know! I plan on fixing that one day), and I really enjoyed it. I can’t wait to see Johnny Depp, Aaron Eckhart, Amber Heard, Giovanni Ribisi, Richard Jenkins and the rest of the cast bring it to life.
